Bug? - files automatically sent from USB to trash

When I connected a USB flash drive to the computer, one folder got automatically copied to trash. The original folder wasn't deleted from the USB though, trash contained just a copy. And what's more surprising, not all files in the folder were sent to trash, only some of them.
After removing and reconnecting the usb - it didn't send files to trash again. But I tried another flash drive and it happened again. So I guess, this happens when I connect a usb for the first time. In both cases, the flash drives were almost full though and both folders' names started with "de" - that's all I've noticed so far.

Does anyone know, what might be causing this? If this is a GNOME-related bug, let me know and I'll report it to GNOME developers. I couldn't find anything about this weird problem on the internet. I also visited GNOME bug database, there are about 200 bugs affecting the trash, but most bugs were about creating .trash on removable device.

That's pretty weird. Can you reproduce the bug reliably, so other people can test it? Otherwise it'll be pretty hard to fix this.

Yes, it's weird indeed. If it wasn't a fresh install, I'd even start thinking about malware. But I haven't noticed anything strange so far and chkrootkit & rkhunter do not display any signs of rootkits either.
I'll experiment a bit and try to reproduce the bug. I'll post on the forum as soon as I have more details.

OK, I'm back.
I'll start with some background info - when I first saw this bug, I had another GNOME-based distro. I never had any problems with either Xfce or KDE, and then when I installed Trisquel, this bug reappeared again. That's why I thought it was somehow related to GNOME. So, I tested this hypothesis - I installed yet another distro with GNOME and as always, the same folders with the same files were automatically sent to trash.
Unfortunately, I couldn't reproduce the bug myself. I tried everything I could, but nothing worked. I didn't manage to achieve the same results with other usb drives and folders.
In the end, I just deleted all the .trash folders on flash drives and reinstalled Trisquel. This time, the bug was gone.
So, the issue is now solved for me, but sadly I still don't know how to reliably reproduce the bug.

Thank you for trying!
