Connecting to wifi network

Hi folks,
This is probably a bone question - sorry, if so.
I have installed Trisquel 6.0.1 freshly and would like to connect to my wifi network. When I try to enter the wifi password, I input all the characters but "Connect" remains greyed out.
I have tried going into "edit connection" and trying various types of wifi security, none of which work.
Any ideas, please?

Run "lspci" in a terminal. Post the output here.

Will do - but just to check - my wifi adaptor is USB, is the output of lspci or lsusb needed?
