As you all know, Ubuntu 14.04 was released and will serve as the base for the upcoming Trisquel 7. Since the release of 7 can be some time away, can the backported Trusty (3.13) kernel from 12.04 be added to the Trisquel repos like you did with Saucy?

You could keep the lts-saucy name or use the project name for Trisquel 7 if you want. Up to you. It would be nice to have the Linux Libre kernel available.

It can't be named belenos, because for some strange reason, the quantal (12.10) kernel is named belenos.

But if they're named after what Ubuntu release they came from, wouldn't 3.13 be called "trusty"?

(That really is confusing, by the way, Quantal's kernel being called the same thing as Trisquel 7. How did that happen, anyway?)

I think at that time that they backported the Quantal kernel (3.5 aka belenos) for Trisquel 6, they didn't settle on Trisquel becoming an LTS only distro and belenos at the time was the next release to be based off of Ubuntu 12.10.

So how do the kernel devs solve this? The Trusty kernel is going to be used by default in Trisquel 7 and the codename for 7 is belenos. Does belenos have to be the final name? Maybe this time they could keep the lts-trusty name but ideally it would be lts-belenos. Unfortunately, that name is taken and both Ruben and jxself need to make a decision on how to handle this from now on.
