Please, NTFS disk recovery

I have an external hard drive which used to be encrypted. Full disk encryption with a LUKS container. The overhead seemed a bit too much. So I went to system management -> disk utility. I don't need a partition. I formated it to NTFS from there. Everything went fine. Than I have wasted about a day to fill it up. About 60%. 24 hours later I mount it and I get an error. I check with disk utility and surprise! I have about 5 partitions, totaling about 10 times the actual size. And there is no data there.

HOW can I recover?

CAN I recover my data?

I am using the 6.0.1 32bit Trisquel with the latest updates.

I don't know how to help you with this problem, but someone else may be able to help you if you state the problem more clearly. You seem to be stressed out, understandably. I gather that you don't know how/if you can retrieve your data, but the post is hard for me (and probably others) to understand.

Use http://forensicswiki.org/wiki/Main_Page

Read and test on other disks. Do not experiment on your own disk. Then
you can be sure to recover on your info.

Probably if you do not use the disk. Make an image of the disk on
another one by not mounting it and using dd to make an image. Then work
on it.

Nice. You can use:
ddrescue
testdisk
photorec

They are command line but very effective. As I said before, play safe
before doing serious stuff.
