Hello

I am have been wondering when Trisquel 8 is coming out and if it will be possible to choose the KDE Desktop before downloading the image.

Trisquel 8 won't be coming out until 2016 and it is probable that plasma 5 will be in it.

Is there a way to speedup that process? Since I can't help with developing is there something else? Fundraising?

Trisquel is based on Ubuntu LTS, so no, there's no way to speed it up. It's not physically possible to make a release based on Ubuntu 16.04 before Ubuntu 16.04 comes out (which is in 4/2016).

It's possible that more funds could make the delay between Ubuntu's releases and Trisquel's releases smaller, but honestly, when you only have a new release every 2 years, an extra 6 months (about the delay the last two times) isn't that big of a deal.

If you want more cutting-edge software, you should take a look at Parabola, which is based on Arch.

Okey thanks for the clarification. I forgot that we have to wait for the next LTS!

Well, if you want KDE Plasma 5 sooner, you could install Parabola GNU/Linux-libre and enable the "testing" repo.
It's not as user-friendly as Trisquel, so you should be kinda experienced with the command line.
