Trisquel USB boot drive won't authenticate

Hi, I am trying to switch from Ubuntu to Trisquel.
I downloaded the 64bit iso of Trisquel 6 and used the Ubuntu Startup disk creator.

Unlike usual, when the flash drive is plugged and I reboot, the flash drive doesn't load. When I go to System Settings and tell the computer to boot from the USB key, it sends back an error that the boot disk cannot authenticate.

Thanks for whatever help you can offer

I have an HP Envy 15 running Ubuntu 14.1. And I am using a 16gb flash drive.

Sorry for being imprecise:
on start up, it outputs "failed to load boot image"
In "System Setup", when I select Boot Device Options, - Lexar USB HD, it outputs "boot image did not authenticate"

You need to disable "secure boot" in your efi bios, otherwise it will only boot images signed by Microsoft's keychain or its subkeys.
