I burned the ISO to a DVD and installed it on my ASUS P9X79WS custom PC.

During installation I noted the following:
(1) Screen resolution 1920x1080 was detected and used automatically;
(2) The wired network connection was not detected;
(3) The DVD was automatically ejected after installtion;
(4) No problem shutting down.

On startup following installation I noted the following:
(1) Screen resolution still correct;
(2) Wired network connection detected automatically.

So 5 of 6, not bad.

Kinda shame the wired connection didn't work on the live CD though as people might be lead to believe it won't work after installing either. I believe the detection of the wired has to do with the kernel. Would you mind checking what kernels the live CD and the install have?

uname -r

Maybe it's not too late to change for the stable release.

It's 3.13.0-24-generic.

I sometimes get a "no talloc stackframe at ../source3/param/loadparm.c:4864, leaking memory" error with sudo.

Is that the kernel on the live dvd, or on the installed system? Glad to know I'm not the only one seeing the memory leaking with sudo.

I have problems with the installed system. The live DVD appears to be fine, and I haven't seen the sudo memory leaking error on it yet.
