Hi,
I installed owncloud client, as instructions from https://software.opensuse.org/download/package?project=isv:ownCloud:desktop&package=owncloud-client [ ASAIK owncloud is a Free Software ]. On System start-up owncloud tray icon is loading on top of Gnote icon,
Temporary solution is open gnote, disable status icon and re-enable it. Is there any permanent fix for this type of problem ?

Thanks
Vishnu V

What happens if you close both Gnote/Owncloud and restart them manually? Does the problem persist?

Well I guess the problem is in the buggy desktop environment Trisquel uses since I also had problems with tray icons. Try to create a bug report and see if someone will be able to fix this. There are also different desktop environments that you may try.

IMO STFU with advice like this when there's bugs upstream evident from a web search.

You don't have to verbally offend me just because I'm speaking from experience and haven't searched online for an answer. Yes, it looks like the problem is upstream, however, ever since Gnome Fallback turned default in Trisquel, the Indicator Applet _has_ problems like this (i.e. misplaced/disappearing tray icons). I have similar problems to this day with applications like Vidalia, PeerGuardian Linux, and JDownloader.

The F in STFU is understood as equivalent to Firmly in my culture.
Which is how I intended it, mere emphasis.

You're in need of this

If you haven't got searching the web before filing an issue is 101
stuff and most questions here can be answered / fixed by doing it.

I already know that most of these issues can be solved just by searching for the key information as that's what most people does (including me) but I haven't done that for a reason since I assumed that the user facing a problem has already made some research before asking. Also, just reposting others work doesn't contribute anything new to the topic so I prefer helping from experience.

And that "Shut The Firmly Up" doesn't make any sense regardless of the cultural differences. Please stop being so irritating.

A search on 'owncloud system tray icon problems' turns up a couple of outstanding similar problems with the OwnCloud system tray icon in other O/Ses. I suggest you try OwnCloud for support,

From what leny2010 pointed out, you should rather urge this problem upstream. If that doesn't help, you can also try MATE desktop environment (Gnome 2 fork) and see if this problem will still happen there.

Thanks mYself, leny2010. I will try.
