Elementary OS Desktop Environment on Trisquel?

I'm a user that want a simple and easy to use interface on my computer. Their are a lot of DEs for GNU/Linux but more or less all have been messy or needed a lot of modifications to be clean and easy.

When I had a look at Elementary OS I found it to be the one user interface I would like to use. Simple, clean and functional. The problem is that Elementary OS is saying it is "100% Free" but it seems it isn't based on freedom, example includes the normal kernel that use binary blobs or non-free software and it uses Ubuntus software center catalog that includes a lot of non-free Software.

So a combination of Elementary OS DE on Trisquel I think would be the best combination.

Have anyone tried this combination and have got it working?

You can install mini-trisquel which uses LXDE. I highly recommend it. If you like Openbox or something even more basic, like ratpoison or dwm, they are available in the repositories. If you install mini-trisquel, Openbox is installed as the window manager for lxde.

I'm sorry, I hadn't investigated Elementary OS before I answered. I thought you were looking for a light de. Elementary uses Gnome, so I would suppose it wouldn't be difficult to set it up like Elementary does.

I guess if it is obvious and practical : It could be added to the
"Tasks" ... I'd fund it.

Althou, I have a couple of Qu's about that..
Note to the Moderators......
I mean .. HOW THE HELL DOES TASKS WORK ANYWAY ?
Issues : How to start one ?| How are they backed as opposed to usual donations ?| How do I get involved in a task, with in this group ?| Where is the transparency of that service ??

I have given 100's in the past ; It'd be nice to get some logic back.

Take a look at the top of tasks page. There is your answer.
https://trisquel.info/en/tasks

For me it looks like people can give suggestions on tasks to be crowd funded and the Trisquel team will add it or not to the list.

I agree that that page needs some polishing, same as with the forum. But when money and man power is limited priority is the word.

Stable elementery OS DE on Trisquel. Dream come true. Clean, easy to use true free operating system. Get it in the menu of NetInstall disc. I would fund this crowd funding, definitely.

Thanks for sharing, Garsmith.
The eOS was created with wonderful purpose and intent, and the design and navigation are spot-on, but you are correct about proprietary apps. Although many coder's hearts are in the right place, true freedom is an elusive creature. Trisquel rocks, but this forum needs an upgrade and some simple instructions would help the cause! :-)

Do good things!

Running under Virtual Box on a machine with Intel and Nvdia graphics. It seems to use nVidia card right now.

Then I tested synaptic. I mark elementary-desktop and get this list of dependencies:

It is different dependencies with apt-get and Synaptic. That is weird for me.

UPDATE:
If elementary OS DE would be ported and working on Trisquel I would like to see it as part of the NetInstall disc. A free version elementary OS would be wonderful.
