I have also enabled vaapi acceleration on firefox and i can see that it works fine with intel_gpu_top.
I am making this is definitely my daily driver !
They only problem was with abrowser it keeps syncing but can't sync my extensions , i don't know if its a bug and stuck syncing because abrowser supports only free software extensions.
So i installed firefox using the original archive and manual installation method.

In my understanding, there is no restriction on which extension abrowser can use, but there could be some settings that are not suitable for what you want to do. However, I am not sure I understand what you mean by "syncing". Which extensions do you use and what exactly is the problem with them on abrowser?
1) it doesn't sync my extensions
2) most of the extensions i use are available but not in the default mozilla extensions page , abrowser has a free software collection of extensions
3) Firefox shows that is always is syncing without stopping , it stuck on sync or something.
PS: i don't know why but everything seems faster on trisquel.
i have created a new account to sync on abrowser and i'm using it now :-)
