After the October seven's update it's impossible to install or to update the linux-generic-lts-belenos.
Are others users having the same problem?

I need this kernel for running the ethernet.

Some days ago, I run into the same problem when done some testing in a 32-bit virtual environment. I assumed it's just some problem with either low memory (from where the whole system is running), or rather the fact, that it's virtualized. I doesn't had this problem, when I made an update on a 64-bit non-virtualized installation. What architecture do you use?

Btw, how much time we need to wait until 3.8 gets backported from Ubuntu?

There was something funny going on with that package, perhaps still is.

You might want to try a new Linux-libre kernel from http://jxself.org/linux-libre/

So, I'm not the only one.
I have this problem with two laptop, one with old installation can't update and the other with a new installation can't install the kernel, both with 64Bit system. (with the 32Bit system is the same, I tried)

I don't like to use PPA. I hope is a temporally situation.

With the jxself's kernel I have the same problem, I can install the 3.10 packages but not the "lts" like the "belenos" kernel.

Thanks - I'll look into this and fix it.

Problems with my repository should generally be reported directly to me: http://www.jxself.org/contact.shtml as I can't promise to notice problem reports posted elsewhere.

It should now be possible to install the LTS kernel from my repository. You may need to update your package manager first (i.e., apt-get update or aptitude update) first.

Just filed this issue: https://trisquel.info/en/issues/11336 ("New linux-{image,headers,tools}-*-generic packages are virtual packages!").
