Microsoft In Charge Of Linux Kernel Releases
It adds a new GPG fingerprint on kernel.org for doing kernel releases, from Sasha Levin.
Where Sasha Levin is now also maintaining most of the LTS kernels along with Greg KH.
Sasha Levin is the same person that made the application for Microsoft to join the linux-distros list 2 months ago.
What does it say when Microsoft is doing new Linux kernel releases? Their "Embrace" phase is continuing?
Even if Linux (the kernel) is extended and then extinguished by Microsoft, it's not the end of free/libre software. Linux is only a kernel but not the only kernel. (I'm looking forward to Linux's demise...)
Well, we might as well be developing a distro of ReactOS at this point. Some are scared, but I think it can serve as a dual purpose. We could use the 100% libre version and only use non-free software for reverse engineering and others could use it to save them from legacy hell or for nostalgic reasons and some could use their semi-free ReactOS computer as a Workstation or server one day.
There can be a lot of mutual interests aligning there. Also, I like the idea of pissing off MS by using a libre clone of their NT.
