Can I get Compiz, with its special graphical effects for the desktop, on Trisquel 8? Is there a GUI to turn on/off particular effects like there was on Ubuntu when I tried that OS years ago? Is it worth using this on Thinkpad T400 hardware or is it not worth it because it's resource intensive?

The T400's integrated graphics should definitely be good enough for at
least some of the effects. It probably depends on which and how many
effects you enable.

T400's GM45 integrated graphics is good enough. But I'd like to keep the desktop environment as simple as possible. Battery life is far more important.

Thanks guys. I don't use my T400 with a battery any more and I can probably do without the special effects. The default Trisquel appearance pleasant enough.
