I was looking at a motherboard that and it did not have standard Realtek network card that has open source drivers but it had a Intel I218-V and what I know Intel do not always release the source of their drivers. I tested to download their drivers and this text comes up.

"This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms and conditions of the GNU General Public License, version 2, as published by the Free Software Foundation."

To be extra certain -> Do someone know if this card works with Trisquel?

I'm a bit surprised that not more hardware is added in the h-node.org database.

Most Ethernet cards use free drivers and no loadable firmware. Most WiFi cards use free drivers but nonfree firmware. This driver doesn't load firmware so it should be fine.
