I maintain my own remastersys edition of Trisquel GNU/Linux. It can be seen as a free replacement for Ubuntu Studio.

Firefox is rebranded to Iceweasel, GNU Icecat and abrowser in different distributions of GNU/Linux. The developers of GNUsound also rebrand LADSPA to GLADSPA. As I don't want to hype "Linux" I prefer the name "Libre Audio Developer's Simple Plugin API"

Recently I helped the maintainers of the Free Software Directory to remove a nonfree software recommendation for the program Cadencii which is a multi-track piano roll editor for singing synthesis.

Linux Multimedia Studio recommends nonfree VST plugins, and there is no liberated version that does not recommend nonfree plugins. I would use that name "Libre Multimedia Studio" for a liberated version that I ship with my remastersys distribution. I think, rebranding a program that its name contains "Libre" helps users to teach them about Free Software.

Nice work! Could be useful to make a Trisquel Studio fork.

Maybe I start with Ubuntustudio and KXStudio components. I will have to check each component whether it recommends nonfree software.
