rhymthmbox notifications appear as warning popups

rhythmbox notifications (when playing a music, moving to the next track, etc) are shown as popup windows with an orange warning sign, which is very disturbing. It would be nice to either get rid of these or display proper notifications!

I just found out there is a notifications popup plugin enabled by default. Strangely, disabling it and enabling it again make it properly display the notifications.

On a fresh session start, it seems to work, so I guess I was just unlucky and the notifications system wasn't loaded and fell back to window popups or something.
