My laptop's BIOS will only boot from the HDD in EFI mode, so I need to install Trisquel with EFI support. This is only available when booting the live system media in EFI mode.
When copying the Trisquel 7 amd64 RC2 image (http://devel.trisquel.info/makeiso/iso/rc2/trisquel_7.0_amd64.iso) to USB storage (using dd) or when bruning it to a CD, the BIOS on my laptop will not propose booting the media in EFI mode. It does propose that mode on e.g. Ubuntu Trusty live (both on USB and CD) and Debian 7 on CD.
The only workaround that I could find is to use the USB creator from Trisquel 6, with the Trisquel 7 amd64 RC2 image: this way, the BIOS does propose EFI booting on the media.
Do you still have the problem with released Trisquel 7?
I just installed the amd64 release image a few days ago on my EFI notebook, and I was able to install without any problems.
OK. Mark status of this bug as closed ;)
