wxMaxima doesn't receive some input characters

wxMaxima doesn't receive some of the characters you type. It seems that ibus is chewing those characters up. (This issue also used to exist in gedit.)

This bug, unlike the other one, doesn't seem to exist in the Ubuntu 14.04 environments I've tried (GNOME classic, GNOME, Unity)
