GNote Status Icon Almost Completely Invisible

No matter how I start GNote, the status icon is shrunken to a tiny yellow sliver. I've attached a screenshot of this behavior. The tiny yellow line between the notification and redhsift icon is gnote. I am running Trisquel 6.0, but I did a dist-upgrade from 5.5.

GNote works, and my hotkeys all work, but the icon does not appear in the status area.
