On that recent Mini Aramo system, I am getting the following list of "GNOME_xxx" startup applications: 1. printer notifications 2. FreeDesktop screensaver 3. maintenance of expirable data 4. Xsettings 5. date & time 6. file sharing 7. color management 8. USB protection 9. WWan support 10. settings override migration (the only one that was checked by default, see post above) 11. power management 12. keyboard configuration 13. accessibility 14. smartcard 15. Wacom tablet support 16. keyboard shortcuts 17. sound sample caching 18. RFKill support I like gnomish creatures as much as the next dwarf, but these seem to be sitting idle: they all are unchecked by default on Aramo, and I do not know under which circumstances they may be activated by the user. Back into Mini deep sea diving. I have not been looking at *running* processes yet.
