I have used it for a while. It's good, lightweight and quite complete for basic tasks.

Run it from terminal and when it crashes look for the output it gives you and copy it here so someone can hopefully find the culprit of the crash.

Always struck me as kinda clumsy. LibreOffice runs well enough and quickly enough even on this old EEEpc with Trisquel 7 Mini, why would I want limp along in AbiWord?

True, libre office is the best and it runs great on older hardware. Only downside, though it really is a tiny detail and no biggie at all, is the time it takes to open up on such potato hardware. But then again, when I use it I open it and it stays there until I finish. Also, it is no where near say Firefox on older hardware as far as boot time is concerned (30 seconds on my old laptop; Seamonkey 10 seconds; TorBB 15 seconds, give or take)

Yeah, Abiword is twice as fast as LibreOffice in opening a .doc document on this netbook ... makes no difference to me, LO can do so much more that it is worth it.
