A recent automatic update has reset the GDM login theme to the bland default GNOME theme.

How can I set it back to the Trisquel theme?

gksudo -u gdm dbus-launch gnome-appearance-properties
and I believe also
sudo dpkg-reconfigure gdm

Thanks!!

But the Trisquel logo is still replaced by a computer icon.

Also, after I followed these step, a GDM icon (a white human on a blue circle) appears on the right side of my panel, and I don't know how to make it disappear.

I reboot, it's not the most elegant solution but I haven't identified the guilty process(es).

Yeah I noticed that. I assume another automatic update will fix this? A "patch for the patch" so to speak, MS have been doing this for years! : )

It happened to me too. I think I'll wait for another update to fix the problem.

I now have the bland GNOME theme for GDM also. In addition, lots of file associations are gone. The system tries to open the SVG files with Leafpad and doesn't know what to do with the JPG and OGG files. Also, if I open any folder from the Places option PCManFM is used instead of Nautilus. It appears several default programs have changed to LXDE versions.

The missing associations are only with PCManFM, which is opening instead of Nautilus. If I open Nautilus explicity, then the associations and thumbnails for pictures are there.

The GNOME team has some 'splaining to do with this patch. :)

At one point I downloaded the LXDE package to try it on Trisquel 3.5 but then removed it. I forgot about the Leafpad and PCManFM programs that are part of LXDE. Even still, everything was working fine prior to the update so I don't think these programs should be affecting this. I also lost the lock screen ability. A reboot fixed that, but now the screen saver is acting up.

This is now fixed. I installed two updates today. The first was an automatic update. I then rechecked and installed the next update found, which had to do with the Trisquel-desktop-common files (as best I can remember). The GDM theme is back. I also removed PCManFM and all folders open with Nautilus.
