Installing Slaine 4.5 on HP pavilion a235.uk Problems with basic install.

Hi there,
I decided to by a new hard disk that arrived yesterday, and install trisquel 4.5 using infra-burner and a dvd (wouldn't fit on a cd).

After fixing the hardware and changing the boot order to the DVD drive, I got a message saying :
" Problems with loading operating system"

-----

I would like to load trisquel now please.
Any helpers?

Have you checked the integrity of your ISO. You can do so in a terminal by using the command md5sum with the ISO as an argument. The returned string should be the same as the corresponding one in http://mirror.fsf.org/trisquel-images/md5sum.txt

I hate to sound derisory but your answer seems to be a division of the trisquel package.

After scouring the other distro formats and micrmart mags reviews I wonder if I should angle towards modifying the real problem of my a235.

Finding other ways ... should the change over be RiDisc completed?

My answer is "check whether there was a corruption either while downloading the ISO or while burning it". To do so, the 'md5sum' command can be used. It outputs a 128 bits string (32 hexadecimal numbers) to be compared with what is written before the name of your ISO in this file: http://mirror.fsf.org/trisquel-images/md5sum.txt
If it is different then the file is corrupted, i.e., the DVD (or the downloaded ISO) is the problem, not the computer.

Obviously, you are not not much familiar with 'md5sum' ( https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Md5sum ). Check out this tutorial:
