I need you to recommend me some mail web sites where you can register without providing your phone number to them. User interface language is not important.
Don't recommend me the websites with encryption, because those are unavailable in my neighborhood.
Why am I asking? Just for lulz of course, this is the Troll Lounge after all.

Years ago I created some fancy email addresses at mail.com

They provide domain name aliases, just for lulz as you wrote.

I do not remember providing any phone number, maybe a valid email address though for password recovery. Not sure you even need to verify it.

Do you mean you are not able to log in to, say, a riseup email account because it is encrypted?

In my neighborhood they recently blocked all privacy respecting services (just for lulz I guess), effectively forcing everyone use gov controlled services like y****x-dot-ru.
This:

And This:

Me and my friends want some random website to use for private communication.

In that case you might want to give a try to Retroshare:

https://retroshare.cc/index.html

https://retroshareteam.wordpress.com/2013/01/06/privacy-on-the-retroshare-network/

I am curious to hear about how it would deal in a real case private network. It gives you the option to go "darknet", which really means private net.

Thanks, this sounds very interesting. However this may bring unwanted attention from the ISP.
I don't have any secrets, I just don't want those ******** mail sites to have access to my data, even if the data itself is unimportant.

Protonmail.com - no phone required (see screenshot). It is encrypted though. But, you can use it with free protonvpn, and bypass most country restrictions, including China and Russia (according to reviews - I haven't traveled to China in the past 3 years, and haven't ever been to Russia).

Thanks.
VPNs are banned, protonmail, tutanota, startmail and other similar services are banned. I'd rather use some random mail site than bypass restriction.

For your reference: The best mail service usable in China is Microsoft Outlook, though it does require your phone number (and therefore your identity).

They want your phone and they will eventually ask for it again in a form of "Some suspicious activity detected in your account, prove that it is really you."

Identification is mandatory according to China's cybersecurity laws, so...

Are disposable email accounts like those provided by sites like Guerrilla Mail available? They are not encrypted, but rather meant to be used once and forgotten about.

I just checked Guerrilla Mail on official gov's registry of banned domains.
Blocked by Prosecutor-General's Office on 2020-02-06:

Look at whole list here:
https://rubanlist.com/
More than 1,000 pages of blocked sites. Really creepy stuff.

We found one awhile back when we were all looking for non-js email services that might interest you called "danwin1210" https://danwin1210.me/mail/

You get 25mb of email, signing up is easy if I recall. You can read the thread here for more info or other suggestions: https://trisquel.info/en/forum/temporary-email-without-javascript

Ah, that's excellent news. It's a very basic sqirrelmail service, glad to see that there's a good use for it. We should remember this one for people behind difficult firewalls.
