Wifi Troubles in Trisquel 8

I am a member!
The first of these is that I cannot connect to secure wifi networks that use wpa2/psk. The second is that, on machines where I need it, my Think Penguin usb wifi dongle is not recognized though it shows up when I use lsusb command.
Any ideas?
