Hello Everyone,
I just downloaded Trisquel 6, but have a problem with Wi-Fi hotspot. For craeting a hotspot in Ubuntu 12.04 I used to go to "Settings > Network > Wireless > Use as Hotspot... " But there is not such an option as "Network" in Settings in Trisquel 6.

I found the solution:
I should click on Network icon in the down bar and then "Enable Wireless" and "Create New Wireless Network"

Can you select WPA for security for the new network? I see only WEP alternatives which is horrible since WEP is trivial to crack, there are even packages in the Trisquel repository to do just that.

I'm guessing Trisquel is shipping with a different network applet. Haven't really noticed. I also never noticed this feature before in the network applet. I had to take a look. In any case this should be doable using the terminal and following these directions here:

The WIFI card that I bought from your store, does registers in my wife's WIN7 Pro, personal laptop as WiFi connection. Strange as it was, I was able to connect both Linux and her laptop, and I was able to browse the net in my old laptop. I forgot to add, her laptop was acknowledging for a password. Yet, is important that both are secure, otherwise anyone could hack your PC. My wife laptop at that time was connected to our Home wire LAN network to our gateway Cisco Router.
I did turn off my wife's WiFi, because I did not like the idea of broadcasting to other people equipment.

The fact that it "works with 100% Free Software" doesn't mean it will not work in a system which isn't FaiF.

It might. The cards often work with at least some versions of Microsoft Windows. They may or may not work with the latest versions. It all depends on if there is a driver.
