Hey all,
So in the spirit of Christmas, and the fact that it's not quite over for some that celebrate it that way; (12 days of Christmas and all..) I would like to share what I had put in my Scotch Auction gift at work for our Christmas party (Attached). Enjoy! And Merry Christmas and may you all have a blessed New Year!

Great for spreading free software. Another thing is a gift membership to the FSF, or other items from https://www.fsf.org/givingguide
(P.S., for GPL compliance purposes hopefully those DVDs came with source code or, at least, an offer of source code valid for three years for those software versions on the DVD.) :)
jxself,
Unfortunately, no. I am still new to the whole thing, but wouldn't that have been part of the Trisquel ISO anyway?

If you go to the Downloads page you can find a 3GB image for the Sources DVD. The other images do not include the sources, just binaries!
For all intents and purposes however, it should be enough if one gets a link to the trisquel homepage. Abrowser has it already built-in, so there is no real problem here. Only if people installing the OS have no internet access.
Under GPLv2, the source code offer cannot be fulfilled over the internet when the binary is provided in a physical thing (like a DVD.) Check out the GPL to see or read the SFLC's article in 4.1:

And they liked it?
From experience, people don't like an evangelist if they are not inclined in that particular direction as the evangelist. Not knowing much about FSF and Trisquel looks more like a ill intended prank.
bmw2qs,
I don't know if they liked it or not. I don't consider it evangelizing. I gave them some DVDs to give a try if they like. They are fellow IT professionals and should know what an Operating System is so they wouldn't think of it as a prank. And it is their free choice whether to be curious and check it out or not. Also, they were in a box full of other things, it wasn't just the DVDs.
