On veracrypt faq it says, that it is free and open source, https://veracrypt.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Hardware%20Acceleration. That is correct? I ask, because a person wrote differently. Problably not knowing enough.
The part about hardware acc https://veracrypt.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Hardware%20Acceleration is not a free software matter?

It's under the TrueCrypt license 3.0 (http://directory.fsf.org/wiki/License:TrueCrypt) which is not a free software license. TrueCrypt was not free software either, see the article in Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TrueCrypt#License_and_source_model).
