But Intel graphics are much more straightforward to use (no reclocking or scripting at boot) and consistently outperform PCI-E GPU's on open drivers
ever so slightly.It is unfortunate that Haswell/Skylake messed with a good thing (broke linux-libre) ,since they have nice graphics

All you must to do is add "nouveau.pstate=1" in grub linux line only. Once.
And update grub.

And when you want to play some game, reclock with only one command, something like:

$ echo 0f > /sys/class/drm/card0/device/pstate

(07, 0a, 0e, 0f) are states of GPU

and play!!!

See the difference with gtx650:

$ glmark2 -s 1920x1080 --annotate

(core and memory reclocked)
not reclocked: glmark2 Score: 219
reclocked: glmark2 Score: 1269
with reclocked gtx770 Score: 3684

With Intel GPU you will be limited with small and slow memory of DDR3.

I damaged it myself, removing IHS from processor. 2nd gen it is better made that 3td gen.

How well does that 770 work with Nouveau?

Same as Nvidia Blob. Better that blob, in my opinion (performance). But you must to switch cstates manually (not diffuclt). After playing a game, you must remember to switch to the lowest cstate, if not, you will have your GPU working to the highest cstate.

In Microblobs Winbugs with Nvidia updated blob, works same way as nouveau(performance), but nvidia blob works bad switching cstates. The pobles is, when you exit a game, and at the same moment run some another game without 1min cooldown, you lose the screen, and must to reboot.

I tested GTX650 too. Is Kepler.

You can run any game (without Nvidia sabotage bugged shit patented drivers)(free or non-free, like steam games) with same performance as blob.

You can have fully free-software OS in you computer, playing any GNU-compatible game, with any Intel CPU (I don't know if Skylake CPU needs blobs to work) and any Kepler GPU (I recommend GTX770 with 4gb like some MSI). I bought mine from Amazon for 200€ refurbished, but is ASUS, and ASUS GPUs doesn't work well with Nvidia blobs (see the reason above).

I don't know if Nouveau drivers is patched already, karolherbs (from nouveau IRC)(nice guy and very genius) built me a patch, which I need to compile with 4.3 kernel (yes, you can use Linux-libre-headers). I tested that patch with 650 and 770oc, and is stable as hell.

I play with 144hz monitor.
