A lot Trisquel users seem to have problems with their graphic card since their Trisquel 7 update.
I can't understand, because my Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RV370 [Mobility Radeon X300] graphic card is compatible with Gnu/Linux.

I have an anamorphic image.
But I'd like to know one thing :
Is there any way to "downgrade" my computer from Trisquel 7 to 6 without loosing all my data on /home.
I thing this could be possible but I don't know how ???
I'd prefer a cd boot solution rather than a usb key boot.

I was really happy to have kept a DVDrom of Trisquel 6. It seems it is no longer downloadable as it was before.
You have the same menu as in trisquel 7 when booting from the DVD

So i suppose I start my laptop with the dvd, then choose in the menu "install Trisquel" then i will find "someting else" ???
I didn't wanted to go too far...
I wonder if I will have the same interface as in Ubuntu for this reinstallation.

When you're finished, you'll have the same Trisquel 6 you had before the upgrade to 7. In the installer, I think it's step 4? The default is to install beside. You want to tick "something else-- manual ", or however it's worded. Be sure not to format the xfs part, and when setting your username and password, be sure to use the same username you did when installing 7; this will leave all your user's data in place.
I once made a video I wanted to post on You Tube about the installation of Trisquel and I shot my screen while doing installation.
I kept it but I don't know if i will upload it one day. Too much blur !!!
So I saw it again to imagine what would happen.
Once I click on install in the menu of the DVD, I will have a installation interface.
The first message is asking if this computer is connected on the net, and the hard drive have enough memory. 6 needs 6,5 Go.
The second window will recognize if there is already a system on my computer. It ask if I want to erase and install or make a special installation. So I think I will have quite the same interface as Heather have linked.
This is quite late here in France and I prefer do it quitely this sunday and let other people suggest their ideas.
I hope this subject will be usefull for those who want to keep Trisquel and had the same problems as me with 7.
