What? You didn't know today was Data Privacy Day? Or maybe you did. The thing is, I have no way of knowing how important online privacy is to you. But I would like to.

In honor of Data Privacy Day, I'd like to ask you to tell me what online privacy means to you.

For me means privacy, safety and counter measures when I browse. I hate cookies because they are the first violators of my privacy. I respect my government, but it does not constitute they own me. Privacy should be a president paramount for everyone.

Privacy comes with security, but governments and corporations confuse people saying that to be secure they have to be watched.
I also hate cookies, but some people love it because it makes things easier for them, but it is a bait that the crowd bit.
The problem nowadays is that both goverments and corporations defame encrypted communication saying that criminals and terrorist use it, so it's bad for them bacause they are unable to catch them. But I think everything depends on the use we give to the tools. It's like a knife, you can cut and open many things with it, and you can kill with it too.

I use tor for almost everything, specially web browsing. Always when I can, I encrypt the XMPP chats normally with OTR.
