On Trisquel 8, I deleted the panel that was on the bottom of the Mate desktop. I believe it is called panel. It has the Trisquel icon, the clock, the Wifi mark, etc.
In the user's guide there is an instruction about it and it is written that I cannot delete the panel if it was only one on the desktop. But I was able to delete it. Then I have no idea how I restore it on the desktop again. The right click menu on empty space of the desktop does not show the option to restore it. If possible, I would like to avoid reinstalling the OS. Would someone tell me how I restore it? Thank you.

What happens if you do Ctrl + Alt + t to open a terminal and type mate-panel --reset?

Also "In the user's guide there is an instruction about it and it is written that I cannot delete the panel if it was only one on the desktop. But I was able to delete it."

So; you were tempting fate to see what would happen? Well you found out didn't you? :)

It was solved. Kind of transparent bars appeared on the top and the bottom on the desktop suddenly. I think it is one of the mischief. On my honour, I am pretty sure there were not such bars. Because I was rightclicking everywhere on the desktop. But it could be my misunderstanding, though. Anyway it is something like that.

The transparent bars disappeared again. What is this. I learned how to open a terminal and the command so I think I will be able to find the solution in the help, though.

No. I just wanted to delete the icon of an application on the panel because minimised boxes disappeared after I set the icon on the bar. Anyway, thank you.
