Following the recent growth in our community forums, we are starting a
new forum and mailing list for English users. As the Spanish forum this
one is also connected to a mailing list, so you can use the system you
like the most and both will get the same content.

You can find the related list at
- http://listas.trisquel.info/mailman/listinfo/trisquel-users/
- http://listas.trisquel.info/pipermail/trisquel-users/

Thanks, great news for no habla espanol people like myself :-)

Also good job on linking the web forum and mailing list; I don't understand why this isn't just universal practice.

Enjoying the 3.0 beta,

I've also started the process to get the list on http://gmane.org ,
which is what I use for reading as many mailing lists as possible.

It allows NNTP clients to be used, which I find much more usable for
discussion than mail or web-based readers.

The group name will be gmane.linux.distributions.trisquel.user (naming
is sort of unfortunate, but in keeping with the gmane request of keeping
this well-organized - eg all the other GNU/Linux distributions are under
gmane.linux.distributions.*)

Below is the confirmation from gmane.

Subscribe A Mailing List

A request to subscribe name at domain has been sent
to the Gmane administrators.

If you wish to have archives imported into Gmane, read this.

We use some nice drupal modules. We still have to polish it a bit, it
sometimes messes up the titles when the message is sent from the forum.

Great, thanks! Do we need to change anything in the list config?

No, to mailman gmane just looks like a regular user.

It's now live at
http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.linux.distributions.trisquel.user

If you want you can get them list archives as described at
http://gmane.org/import.php
so the 5 or so older posts get into the newsgroup.

Cheers,

Thanks Rubén, I'll give it a go.

P.S. My email address is showing in your reply. I'd appreciate if you could remove it, thanks.

Just installed the beta. This is great, it's picked up my 1440 x 900 widescreen resolution out of the box. Hey YouTube is working as well! Fantastic user experience so far well done everyone. Thanks for your effort.

The Beta release of 4.0LTS is really good. I like it except for one thing. Is it possible to make the bottom task bar slightly narrower as well as the top task bar? This would make the web page bigger. Just a suggestion. No matter what it still is a great project, and I will always use this OS as I prefer it to the Ubuntu 10.04LTS I have on the other half of the hard drive.
