I am programming in Ada these days. I need the GNAT the ada compiler and
gcc. Unfortunately there are issues with the ones in the Trisquel/Ubuntu
repository.

I have installed Debian wheezy and everything is working perfectly with
GCC 4.6 and GNAT 4.6 . I miss Trisquel though and want to come back. Is
there anything wrong with adding the wheezy repo to a Trisquel machine?

Thanks-Patrick

Perhaps you can add this (untrusted) PPA? https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-toolchain-r/+archive/ppa

Hi

Thanks for taking the time to look this up for me. I have tried to
install it on another a netbook that I have but it does not seem to be
working, I will keep trying.

Hi Miiko

Thanks for you input too. I tried for days to get the compiler combo I
need set up but there seems to be a bug in GCC 4.5, even with GNAT
installed and working seperately it cannot seem to find it. To compile
GCC with ada support, another version of GCC that is ada aware is required.

Do you guys think I could compile GCC/GNAT on Debian wheezy and then
bring the binaries back to Trisquel?

Thanks again

Perhaps try asking for help on the gcc-help mailing list.

http://gcc.gnu.org/lists.html

I guess bringing the binaries over could work.

Mixing repositories is in my experience a good way to break an install, not something I would recommend.

Install into a custom directory http://gcc.gnu.org/install/
