See here: https://trisquel.info/en/issues/24077

Edit '/usr/share/applications/rhythmbox.desktop' and remove the ^_ at the beginning of line 2.

Command line to do the edit (Trisquel 8) :

sudo pluma /usr/share/applications/rhythmbox.desktop

However even after restarting the OS, uninstalling (and purge) the application or reinstall it, I can not see the icon.

I confirm the issue on a new install of Trisquel 8 (language is French). My only workaround is to type "rhythmbox" in a terminal.

Ooops, fix found ! : i was removing only the ^, and not the ^_
now it work, and without having to reboot :) ;

Thanks, deleting "^_" worked for me! Rhythmbox was totally missing in the desktop panel, not only unnamed...
