brasero and iso image

I wasted 3 cds trying to burn iso images of GNU/Linux distros (Trisquel mini, #!Crunchbang).
First I thought the iso file was corrupted but the md5sum matched. Yet I "retranmissioned" #!Crunchbang just to make sure, and burnt a new cd.
And no CD left now :-(
Once only Brasero stalled while sum checking right at the end after the image was burnt.
Brasero worked fine on Maverick though.
I read somewhere that you need to install cdrao and to uncheck the "md5sum check" in Brasero plugins.
But as I've said no CD left now though I'll order a spindle in the near future.
Can't use a USB flash drive as one computer is too old to boot on one and the 2007 computer refuses to do so (this is a very different issue).
As far as I am concerned, Brasero is worthless. Use k3b instead.
I find it works for me now on Trisquel 5, for a long time it didn't. I've burned so many coasters, I've switched to CD-RWs.
Sometimes when Brasero stalls like that the CD has burnt succesfully. Maybe give it a try booting up.
Whenever I want to burn an ISO image, I just right-click the file and select "Write to disc."
Many thanks for your comments. Brasero used to be next to worthless but it has improved a lot.
I'll try your way akirashinigami.
In fact, my Triquel-mini CD was alright after all though the text install didn't work on that old celeron computer.
So I'm installing Trisquel-mini on a Duron on the Celeron hard disk which hopefully will work fine when I put it back on the celeron box.
