Hello,
While proceeding with an installation media boot and despite changing to legacy boot. The BIOS is showing the following: "secure boot the image could not be authenticated".

You don't tell any details. What is the machine you are trying Trisquel on?
Make sure secure boot is disabled.

It was an error while trying to install trisquel with a live USB on an HP desktop. It had crashed and now isnt detecting the USB.

Whatever you do, follow my advice: before removing or installing any OS on a modern laptop, flash the latest bios firmware in it, then attempt the installation of wahtever GNUx on it.
