I noticed there are a lot of CD rippers in the repos. I have tried 2, namely Rhythmbox and Ripperx, but neither of them have a good GUI or barely any customizaitons. Does anyone have a recommendation for a CD ripper, preferably one that rips to FLAC?

What kind of customizations?

(I've only used Rhythmbox; I don't know what options other programs have.)

Main customizations I'm looking for:
Flac compression level
Auto-name & directory newly ripped files
CDDB Lookup

I swear by Sound Juicer. It is in the repos.

I personally use VLC. It supports FLAC. Just use the Convert/Save option
under the Media menu, and follow the GUI from there.

You might need to create a new profile to save files using FLAC.

Andrew.

RipOff

You can choose the FLAC compression easily in Edit > Preferences. There you choose Plugins > FLAC > Preferences.
It support CDDB.
