Nobody here could help me with the fact that the audio and WLAN do not work on my computer.

Looks like several people have tried to help you. Arch guys tend to yell at people in their forums - Be sure you have thick skin when you go over there.

By the way, have you tried a live CD of a distro like Ubuntu with proprietary drivers to see if your system has good audio and wifi on that? If you still have problems with an Ubuntu live CD, you may have deeper hardware problems.

Please do not advise people to use nonfree software, we don't do that here.

Seeing if an Ubuntu live CD will boot up is not recommending non-free software, and has been done before on this forum. Several members have already tried to help this member to troubleshoot the problems from within Trisquel - please try to be helpful to a fellow member in need rather than shooting down workable ideas. If you have a solution that avoids the trial of a live CD, please let's hear it. I'm of the opinion that an Ubuntu live CD will have the same problem, as the problem in this case is hardware failure.

Ruben's right (quidam), considering that the OP "threatens" to leave the free software platform for Arch.

1. Get to the point and ask, don't beat around the bush
2. Give out all relevant details and try to maintain focus
3. Don't spread your issue all over the place, stick to one thread at a time

Hi ulises.sanchez, I can feel how hard if our hardware won't work with
GNU/Linux. What can I advise you is go to https://h-node.org and find
there information about Audio Card and WLAN Card (external is good)
that are verified perfectly working with 100% free software. For
example, for WLAN adapter USB you may read this

The sound card is bytcr-rt5651 (aka. ALC5651) and it is not on H-Node.

The computer came with Windows 10 and eveything worked fine. Since I installed Trisquel the audio and WLAN stopped working, I installed Trisquel the day I bought it.

Edit: Well, not really the day I bought it, I bought it on internet and it took many days to arrive.

Did you happen to run across this French Ubuntu forum where they recommended you blacklist the HDMI sound output on the system? https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?pid=21874250#p21874250

If I translate the French instructions for doing the blacklist, I get the following:
1. the HDMI port is mistakenly considered a sound card.
To avoid it you have to create a file in the folder (under root):
/etc/modprobe.d

naming itself:
blacklist_snd_hdmi_lpe_audio. conf

containing a single line:
snd_hdmi_lpe_audio

Sorry, I tried. I'll make another attempt, but it seems like your
hardware issues might be outside my level of knowledge.

It sounds like you might be running a newer kernel than you were last
time I asked you to run

$ lscpi | grep Network

so maybe try again now and see if it prints some information about your
WiFi card.

As for audio, I'm really not sure what state your system is in. I'm
looking through my inbox, but the information about what you have tried
is scattered among several threads. At one point you appear to have
installed JACK, which might have broke things worse. At this point it
could be hard to distinguish between hardware problems and configuration
problems.

I suggest that you go to "Control Center" -> "Users and Groups" and
create a new user for the purposes of testing audio. Reboot into the
most recent kernel you have installed, log in as the new user. Unmute
and raise every fader for every sound card in alsamixer. Then in a
terminal run

$ speaker-test

and see what happens. If you get nothing, then I'll probably be out of
ideas. Sorry I can't be more help.

If you do decide to switch to a rolling distro (although I'm not sure
that this will fix your hardware issues considering that you are already
running a bleeding-edge kernel, I recommend Parabola over Arch, as like
Trisquel it does not include proprietary software.

This doesn't help you now, but for the next time you buy a laptop I
recommend researching hardware compatibility in advance. h-node[1] is a
good resource.

You should consider the idea that your hardware need proprietary software in order to works, so the only viable way would be to change your hardware.

Switching to Arch isn't a solution at all. You may need to purchase some freedom-respecting hardware (such as ath9k-htc USB WLAN card) to retain your freedom.

That's very good news, so there's no hardware failure. Next, you should try Parabola, the libre version of Arch: https://www.parabola.nu/

I used Parabola for several years with very good success. It has bleeding edge software just like Arch. You might find that sound and wifi work on Parabola without proprietary drivers. Let us know if it works.

Is that the Direkt-Tek DTLAPC14-1 laptop you wrote about originally? It has a lot of problems reported online. I would question whether Direkt-Tek are using good quality components. You've only had it for about 3 months, right? You should try to demand a refund.
