Ok basically this is what i have been thinking about.
I wanna use Trisquel, but i really need the nonfree drivers for my Radeon HD card, needd the ability to switch to the internal cause of the heat.
Really dont know that much about the wireless yet but im ususally on cable or 3g.
And what version should i use as of today if i should install, had it installed on a older laptop.

If you relay on the non-free drivers for avoiding damage of your
hardware, then i won't recommend you trisquel.
I would suggest to use another video card, since none apart from the
Intel ones have 3D acceleration.

Trisquel Mini is for low resources machines.

This is not entirely correct. I run my Nvidia GeForce 8400 with Trisquel 4.5
with 3D acceleration, using nouveau DRI, quite reliable.
Well, in any case, 3D acceleration isn't going to work with a Radeon card without non-free drivers or firmware.

Entirely is the word, since 3D on nvidia is still an experimental
feature of a driver under heavy development.
Quite amazing that is pretty stable.

Well this is an Acer Aspire with 6gb ram so pretty decent.
I know the Intel one works prety good.

I am probably the only one who will say this, so I shouldn't have to bother saying that this is my opinion and definitely not that of the Trisquel project.
People will say that if you use one non-free blob, you might as well just use a non-free GNU/Linux or even Windows. I do not believe this. I think using Trisquel with a non-free blob or two is a "lesser evil" than going completely non-free, as long as you are consciously aware of the decision you made and you strive to be as free as possible. Keep in mind, however, that if you choose to go this route, the Trisquel community won't help you. We generally don't help anyone with non-free software, drivers, or firmware.
Of course, the best option is to find a better graphics card, but from what I can tell you're talking about a laptop, and I'm not sure how many laptops allow you to switch out graphics cards nowadays.
I had an Acer laptop (one of the Acer Timeline models) and it worked flawlessly with Trisquel.

Yeah its a laptop, the thiing is i wanna be able to use the gfx card for
some Linux gaming if i want.
And also for the ability to switch cards, dont need the fan running
constantly and make computer superhot :)
Atm im on Mint11 but i dont see why i couldnt switch over and use the
non free blob for the gfx card, question is should i go with the
currents sts and upgrade once released?

* Ethically: because you want to control your computer and not be controlled by the developers of the non-free blob;
* Technically: you can. Nobody prevents you from installing proprietary software (this may look obvious but consider the number of people, in the proprietary world, who work on DRMs, Tivoization, etc.)... but Trisquel does not help you to do so either (and you should not expect help on this forum). For example, a non-free blob is not in the repository and will probably break after each kernel update (even small ones). As a consequence, I do not see any reason not to install the current version of Trisquel.
Well i did a clean install of 4.5.1 and atm im configuring and setting
it up.
I added the fancy jelly effect and that will do =)
cubes and 3d isnt as fun these days so i will survive.
Only thing i need to get up and running is the Broadcom, but i guess i
will find some solution for that aswell.

Well gave up the wifi until i remembered that i had one of those usb dongles for my d-link i never use.
Popped it in and then i was able to see all neighbours wireless connections aswell as my own hehe.
Btw, do you guys know if this one is able to use for all devices broadcasting wirelessly? cause i dont think all neighbours are rocking d-links.
We have fiber net in the house and all modems got a wifi switch so guess some use that then right?
Anyway...just so happy i found a solution...and the dongle isnt exactly painful to carry along (already got an 3g dongle aswell so)

Could you please add the model to h-node.com if it isn't listed. The model can be easily found by typing lsusb in the terminal.
Yeah i will check it out, noticed that my sound carded wasnt added there either.
