I have seen the Olimex A20 and A64 mentioned here before as good examples of devices that are far more free than other SBC boards. Do they work with the libre kernel though ? I ask because I have had issues on ARM distros before of them not booting on my RockPro64 once I installed the libre kernel.

You can see at https://wiki.parabola.nu/Computers that parabola is officially supported on the Olinuxino-Lime2 and the only kernel packages in parabola are linux-libre and linux-libre-lts so I guess it runs with them. Still, some patching of Das U-Boot is needed for ethernet to work on recent boards (let's use the official name, "the submarine" in German, litterally the undersee boat).

A few days ago, I tried again my RockPro64 but without success. I got the advice from the freedombox forum to use a USB serial adapter as it may show that some keyboard input is needed, so I ordered one, but I am away for some time so it will wait until I am back. If I manage to boot the debian installer I will try the trisquel one.
