Does the Whonix operating system come with non-free software?

I have learned recently about the Whonix operating system. For those who don't know about it, there's plenty of information at http://whonix.org/.
My question is, does Whonix come shipped with non-free software (e.g. binary blobs)? I know that Whonix is based on Debian GNU/Linux, which contains only free software by default, but I'd like it if there was some proof that Whonix is fully free software.

The other proposed way to install Whonix is in VirtualBox. VirtualBox is problematic:
- Since version 4.2, building VirtualBox's BIOS has required the use of the Open Watcom compiler, which is not free: https://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html#Watcom
- The "VirtualBox Extension Pack" is proprietary: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Licensing_FAQ (question 9).

You can also run Whonix in KVM/QEMU:
