Have you noticed the Bitcoin project? I don't claim to understand how it works but I sure would like to be able to give and buy without greedy, crooked middle men like banks or paypal!

I suggest you research the issue and if you like it, perhaps donations could be made in Bitcoin.

What do you guys think about Bitcoin? Anybody have first hand experiences of it?

This Bitcoin thing is funny, their license tells almost EXACTLY the same things as GPL, however it is not a GPL and is much shorter. Looks like free software to me:

According to this old Wikipedia article it's free software under the MIT license.

I've noticed that on Bitcoin's forums the users sometime encourage use of non-free software (like some GPU drivers) to increase the speed of creating Bitcoins. I suppose they do that with good reason, as it can take over a year to generate a block without GPU support. However, there is a project that pools peoples resources together so everyone can get some coins and it's free software.

EDIT: Yes, I've had experience with it. It's really a good program. If you'd like some free Bitcoins right away, see https://freebitcoins.appspot.com .

I'm so trying this Bitcoin thing out... For a business like mine, that is located throughout the world it is a fabulous thing to transfer money free of charge. Expect some comments on how well it works from me in the next month or so.
