Sounds kind of like you have to purge firefox before installing abrowser?
sudo apt purge firefox
I don't think I've ever tried to install abrowser on a system that already had firefox installed. I'm pretty sure I always purge firefox first.
I actually had firefox-esr (not "firefox") when I installed Abrowser on Debian 11. In fact, I still have it, although I never use it.

Did you install 0ubuntu0.20.04.1 deb package or 0ubuntu0.18.04.1 deb package? How did you install
it?
> you have to purge firefox
Installing an abrowser deb file should
not require other pieces of software getting
uninstalled. Do the trisquel people not test their abrowser deb
file on debian before releasing it? If the abrowser deb file cannot get
installed on a system like debian 11, then what use
is the abrowser deb file for?
You are mis-quoting me - I was asking if you did need to purge firefox when installing on Debian. I do not know, I have not used Debian in quite a few years. My experience with abrowser is all with Trisquel or Devuan or antiX. I would "assume" that if it installs ok on antiX and Devuan that it SHOULD install ok on Debian. But you know what happens when somebody "assumes" something - it makes an "ass" out of "u" and "me".
>"Do the trisquel people not test their abrowser deb file on debian before releasing it?"
I don't think they would want to. The package targets a version of Ubuntu, not a version of Debian. And it's not available in any repos to be installed on Debian. It's only us crazy forum dwellers that are trying this kind of stuff.

Do you know the difference between the 0ubuntu0.20.04.1
and the 0ubuntu0.18.04.1 version? On debian 10 abrowser 0ubuntu0.20.04.1
version does not install. Abrowser 0ubuntu0.18.04.1 version
does. On debian 11 none of them install.
> don't think they would want to.
If that is the case and abrowser maintainers are reading this, then
they ought to reconsider. If people get aware of abrowser, they might
get aware of free software and trisquel. Getting abrowser
compatible with debian 11 widens who can utilize it. Now what
can happen is, a debian 11 person gets aware of abrowser. Tries to
install abrowser. Because it fails, he probably concludes, the
abrowser maintainers do not know what they are doing. That
is what he will tell others. Is there a reason why abrowser it not in
the debian 11 repository? Abrowser maintainers could provide
an appimage version of abrowser.
On debian 11 none of them install.
I am using Abrowser 98.0.2+build1-0ubuntu0.20.04.1+10.0trisquel87 on Debian 11 right now. The script attached to https://trisquel.info/en/forum/state-web-browsers-debian#comment-164779 installed it. Abrowser is automatically upgraded whenever a newer version is released. As I have already mentioned, I had the package firefox-esr, in Debian's repository, installed before I decided to install Abrowser. It is still installed. Both Abrowser and Firefox ESR (which I never use) peacefully coexist.

How do I report an abrowser bug on https://trisquel.info/en/project/issues? Log in returns You are not authorized to access this page.
Not sure. The 'Issues' section seems to have entered the deep freezing appliance: "ya es evidente que la sección de incidencias ha entrado a la congeladora" as per:
https://trisquel.info/en/forum/%C2%BFdonde-es-posible-ver-las-incidencias#comment-166215.
I believe this is where all issues will soon have to be reported, by those users with proper credentials:
https://gitlab.trisquel.org/users/sign_in.
In the mean time, new issues will probably also have to stay in the freezer.
Bug reports are anti-Freedom and will not be tolerated.
Also, we are canceling the letter "Z" - anyone found using the letter "Z" for any purpose will face prison terms of 50,000 billion quintillion years and fines of 800 septillion world bank digital coins.
Enjoy your freedom. You are welcome.
Is trolling considered a purpose?
Oh, you think I'm trolling do you? Good thing you don't live in Latvia. Oh, and they're banning the letter "V" for good measure as well. Your outrageous use of the letter "v" 8 times and the letter "z" twice in this thread alone would have cost you 3,880 Euros.
> Oh, you think I'm trolling do you?
No, you never do that. I was just asking for a friend from Latvia.
I've been authorized by the Latvian government to collect fines from people with friends in Latvia who nevertheless use the offensive "v" and "z". How would you like to pay your 3,880 Euro fine? I'm authorized to accept Crapple Pay, Scroogle Pay, or I can arrange for you to facetime with Cthulhu and share your debit card and pin number.
You have been misinformed, my friend is not in Latvia.
We are currently cruising in the Deep South Pacific, onboard our secret yellow submarine. We painted it ourselves, it used to be dark aubergine and we were always distracted by uncanny visions of Ubuntu while singing the song. Now we can truly sing the song, all day long.
We had originally planned to pick up suzuqi sensei somewhere on our way north, but he has decided to remain completely silent until all his cousins get unfrosted. He has many cousins, most of them were sent into space in deep frost state for more or less serious reasons. We found a bottle with a painted message in it, that's how I know.

on debian 11 abrowser_1000ubuntu0.20.04.1_amd64.deb gets
installed. I have not tested the
abrowser_100-0ubuntu0.18.04.1_amd64.deb version.
On Debian/Devuan, dpkg -i abrowser.deb works fine.
abrowser 0ubuntu0.22.04.1 does not
install on debian 11. abrowser 0ubuntu0.18.04.1 does. What is
the difference between abrowser 0ubuntu0.18.04.1, abrowser 0ubuntu0.20.04.1 and abrowser 0ubuntu0.22.04.1?
