exFat support in Trisquel - why its not working out-of-the-box?

After Trisquel installation, user needs to:
1) add exFat repository:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:relan/exfat
2) install exFat packages:
sudo apt-get install exfat-utils fuse-exfat
From what I read here, it looks like this is a free software:

I believe that exFat (as a basic feature) should work in Trisquel instantly after installation - that will improve user experience

Actually, the PPA is not needed, because it's there in toutatis-backports (add it to your sources.list). In Belenos, it will be in the default repos, so it might be installed by default. Whether it will be, I don't know.
