I have made flyers about distributed computing. I planned to distribute it locally and over forum and e-mail.
The third page is in english.

Hello Larissa,
I think everyone is happy with your idea. But you have change some things before. First of all, free software is not equal to open source (your definition in the document). Free software is the software that respects the user's freedom. It's an ethical issue, not a practical one.
Cheers!
Isn´t it both. I will edit in, that it respects the freedom of everyone. I´m hesitant to edit out the positives written in the text. By the way you can edit the flyer too.
Quote: "This Flyer can be edited, copied and distributed by anyone."
"Isn't it both."
Free software started out by saying that people should make free software because to do anything less (proprietary software) was unethical. Open source started as a branch off of free software, from people that rejected the ethical point of view taken by free software. The perspective taken by open source was that software could be made technically better. That may be true, but it's not the point made by free software. So while the software itself may be the same, the different camp's reasoning for making it as vastly different. Unfortunately, open source's view of "we should be doing this in order to get technically better software" has become much more widely known that free software's message over ethics. So much so that people even call Richard Stallman the father of open source! ALG was saying you should align your document with the message of values and ethics, not the practical values of better quality software.
Here's a quick blurb from RMS, mostly particularly when the person in the audience makes the comment that in the past freedom has been a way for us to get the best software possible: http://aws.bluehome.net/better.ogg
I think this is a great link illustrating the difference and why it's important to root for free software.

First of all, the newest version of the flyer is down the topic.
Second, since I am not as concentrated on the ethical part than others, maybe other people can edit the flyer.

Also, please don't use the term "closed source"; use instead "proprietary software". The FSF has a list of words to avoid:

Yes I will do that. The only problem I see is, that not many people heard about that, so the distribution could get a bit more difficult. In an earlier version I used the cc-sa 4.0 license, which no one I showed the flyer understood, especially the SA part. By the way you can edit the flyer too.

Yes, I can understand that a lot of people will not understand "cc-by-sa 4.0" by itself so it's a good idea to add an explanation. The one does not exclude the other.
I suggest a change like this in the German text:
"Die Vorteile gegenüber Closed Source Software (="verschlossene" Software)"
->
"Die Vorteile gegenüber unfreie oder proprietäre Software"
I changed the 3 files.

Good! It's much better now.
So not only will you inform people on distributed computing and free software but with licensing and terminology!
I think it's our duty to enlighten our fellow citizens in computing matters. Gently, consistently and unwaveringly.
This is why I am producing some talks for people, ones that focus on the main issues that are present today followed up with the best solution we have - free software. If people are aware of the issues, the solution will be much more welcoming.

Good job Larissa! There are several typos/grammar mistakes though. I can correct those and send you the text back, if you agree with that.
cheers
Yes, I agree. Post the finished text in this forum. To be precise, everyone can edit the flyer.
will attach it here when I do (finish the translation).
EDIT - in attachment. I tried to modify the original text as little as possible. I was not very successful with it. :)
If you (generic you) find some mistakes or want to add something, please do!
cheers

Why did you remove the picture?
I found my description of BURP a little bit better, since it advertise Blender and described, that it could Blender.
Is this sentence correct? "This project is searching for extra terrestrial radio signals."
You could reinclude, that the execution of the work units you would advertise in a passive way.
>Why did you remove the picture?
I just polished the text. Take it and paste it in your .odt file.
>I found my description of BURP a little bit better, since it advertise Blender and described, that it could Blender.
Well, you keep your definition then :)
>Is this sentence correct? "This project is searching for extra terrestrial radio signals."
Yes.
I think it should be "extraterrestrial", not "extra terrestrial". See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extraterrestrial_life
That's correct. Either extra-terrestrial or extraterrestrial. My bad.
Here is the newest version.

Looks and sounds great!! Only two tiny things. You may want to add a break between the second and third paragraphs to match the rest. Also, you might want to make the "for more information" urls actual hyperlinks like the others.
Nevertheless great job!
*note: my comments are only applicable to the english version since I can only read english.*
Larissa: in the burp section - all results are freely available.
Btw the electricsheep is superultracool :)

I altered the License of the Flyer:
This Flyer can be edited, copied and distributed by anyone, under the same rules. It can even used commercially.
Does anyone, have tipps?
hi im new.. im from windows .. nice to meet you all ...
Hello,
nice to meet you too.
Hello,
nice to meet you too.
Hey, I completely re-wrote the english flyer to make more sense. Not to drag you down or anything, theoretically I'm contributing, but the version you posted was a little bit dull. I assume you're going to hand this out to people who may not be as affluent in F/LOSS and computers, so I tried to make it look more... attractive.
That being said, nice initiative!
Also, I changed the fsf logo to the .svg version, seems like you were using non-vector format and it looked pixelated.

Fixed a spelling error (if someone is bored you could proof read these), and also font sizes for links.

Not one of the Freesoftware Projects is helping curing cancer.
Your style seems more American, I think your style will work best in America, but I think, my style is better suited for Europe, where the people don’t speak as emotionally as in the USA.
BTW. here is the newest Flyer.
The mention of security is a really good point.
BTW. You are the first person, I know of, that edit it without asking me, thats good, you read the last line.

Heh, that might be true - maybe it is more American.
And yeah, the "cure cancer" part is the lure/bait - to make people continue reading, spike an interest (who doesn't want to help cure cancer?), but it's sort of a bad bait with the fact that there's no free software project for it.. then again, if it started with "do you want to help simulate the chemicals origin of life on Earth?" - how many people do you think would fall for that? Only enthusiast/specially interested, I'd argue.
How about: "do you want to help humanity"?

You have to understand the sense behind combining calculation power, to understand the flyer.
Most of those projects needs many PCs or at least many CPU hours to function.
