It's not that simple. You have to make sure coreboot works with the specific revision of the motherboard.

I wouldn't feel comfortable building coreboot from source, as I'd likely brick my computer, and I would need to get a specific motherboard revision.

Does the 'Trisquelizer' script install GNOME classic into the Chrubuntu install, or would I be stuck with Unity?

I don't know although you should be able to install GNOME after running the Trisquelizer script.

I hope it's not too hard to turn Trisquelized Chrubuntu into a Vanilla Trisquel install.

I've now decided that I would like an Acer C7 Chromebook, except that I don't know if it would be possible to jump to a newer release once it comes out. (Trisquel 7) If updates will work smoothly, then I will probably buy a Chromebook.

Has anyone else gone this route, and if so, how well has it worked out?
