This unfortunately probably a longshot, but... Is anyone aware of K-12 schools or colleges in the New York City metro area that use free software with students exclusively? If not, how about the Northeastern or Mid-Atlantic U.S.?

Thanks!

Looking for brick/mortar schools with accredited programs and facilities/faculty/students that I might possibly visit. Thanks though.

How about non-profit free software, publicly accessible computer labs in the continental U.S.? Libraries? Community centers?

I don't know about that, but if you want to make a positive change, get inside one of these schools and start working with them to gradually remove proprietary software from the curriculum. If you just shop around for schools that are already fixed of just don't have the problem, that prevents you from having any sort of influence on it and makes you an outsider.

Looking for successful brains to pick with exactly that in mind. No reason to reinvent the wheel. I haven't stumbled onto a free institution yet. :(

Hopefully I'll track down someone who will also be at this year's LibrePlanet.
