One of my female friends, a fan of Japanese anime and comic, asked me how to make her name looked like a Japanese girl's name. I replied, so easy, just replace the last syllable of your name with a "ko".

She did follow my advice, and posted an introduction somewhere: My name is ***ko...

But, her name is "Mandy", so the results are very embarrassing.

This OP must be another something, but I have to say, that when I was a high school cherry boy, there was a girl in my school who was one year senpai of me whose name was Kon Mariya. My senpai (vice captain) of the basket ball club said that "This...", while talking about her name. Another senpai (captain) said that "Her parents... (silence)".
And I have met a Danish couple in Australia and they taught me that "Thank you very much" is "Mange tak" in Denmark language.
By the way, ***ko was quite popular for our generation but nowadays, ***ko is not so popular. And perhaps you must have predicted the result.

I didn't know that "manko" means "women's private parts" before the accident...

yeah you have to say so. That excuse sounds the most plausible.

Also, when I was an innocent high school boy, a second-year student.
There was a club activity called the Light Music Club, like Basketball club, or Soccer, soccer club, in the high school. Usually a bit popular boys form a band, practice in the music room, and perform poorly at the school festival to the delight of the girls.
One of the popular seniors (senpai-tachi) formed a band called "Chestnut and Squirrel", and they were going to perform a bad performance at the school festival that year.
In the middle of the festival, we, several boys and several girls were sitting in a classroom looking at the program of the students' concert that were going to play. As we all looked at the program, I read out the name of the band, "Chestnut and Squirrel" without even slight hesitation because I was innocent. A girl looked at me and smiled and said like "Oh, no". In precise, "Yaadaa〜”. But I did not understand what was "Oh, no". Because I was innocent. I knew ***toris. But as a knowledge, I had never seen that. I was not able to relate the name of the band with it. Even after I saw it, for about a year, I was misunderstanding it with another organ, which is placed at the deep of it, I still do not know what is that called. What is that called?

I had never seen the word manko anywhere except in the indexes of obscene websites which are sometimes searched by DuckDuckGo.
