Hello, everyone. This is Ignacio Agulló, and since the year 2011 I maintain the Information and Communication Technologies’ Celebrations Calendar for the professionals. The calendar registers all of the editions for a total of 19 yearly celebrations, beginning in 1969 - with some celebrations already extinct by now. The Calendar only registers the celebrations, not the many ICT events created for them.

The Calendar is published through the Google Calendar application in formats iCal and HTML. This allows for subscribing to the Calendar from most agenda and e-mail applications, and also view the calendar as a web page or insert it in one. The calendar is available in English, Spanish and Galician, with small differences depending of the places and languages of the Celebrations. Because of many celebrations changing dates or delaying their announcements until mere days before, subscribing to the calendar is the best choice to avoid being surprised by unexpected date changes. If you are a subscriber from before 2020, please notice that the original Calendar is abandoned for a new one, so you'll need to subscribe again.

Every year I update the calendar on the very first day of the year, and every year I delay the announcement because of celebrations in January not being announced yet, hence the reason for announcing the calendar as late as on the 25th day of the year. The usual offender is the Data Protection Day from the Council of Europe - can you believe that they just announced it, only four days in advance?

As for ICT Freedom Days, the Glory Years from 2013 to 2016 when there were four different ICT Freedom Days have vanished - now only one remains. But let's not lose hope. Surely things will improve in the future. This is the updated list of the many Information and Communication Technologies' Freedom Celebrations celebrated throughout the years:

I love Free Software Day
Celebrated from 2010 to 2022 (13 editions).
Currently announced for 2023.

Document Freedom Day
Celebrated from 2008 to 2016 (9 editions).

Hardware Freedom Day
Celebrated from 2013 to 2017 (5 editions).

Software Freedom Day
Celebrated from 2004 to 2022, except 2020 (18 editions).

Currently unannounced for 2023.

Kind regards,
Ignacio Agulló.

Typically, just after posting the message, I notice a mistake: "now only one remains". It's two, two ICT Freedom Days.
